Amano Sparkling Wine

“Amano is an idea…
Amano is sharing…
Amano is dissidence…
Amano is looking further, in search of something that wasn’t there! After its original 2017 version, here is the second!
A friend is indispensable for producing Amano. In our case, his name is Damiano, and he lives in the Bergamo area. He’s not a winemaker, but he knows a great deal about wine and has a truckload of passion.
We created this wine together, interpreting Barbera in our own way. It is a Classic Method, aged 24 months on its lees up to now (April 2024), with refermentation from its own must, which had been frozen during soft pressing.
It’s bold yet friendly, imaginative, spontaneous, and generous, while also being rigorous, rich, and purposeful. It’s that kind of bubble, your trusted friend or the nutty one, depending on the occasion.”

Amano

“Amano is the wine of friendship and each year it is and will be a different wine. Because different is us. Amano is wine of sharing because each year will be the result of choices shared with those who choose to make wine with us. The first vintage is a red, from Croatina grapes with a small balance of barbera and vespolina. The vineyard is one. The winery is that of a dear friend (with his indigenous yeasts). The ideas are from another friend. These are two who know the area better than their pockets, with whom it was wonderful to share the birth of the project, returning from Burgundy. The wine is there…Scalping to get the word out about the territory. How it was done is not that important, but we assure you that the utmost was done to enhance the quality of the area. Because we, this territory, love it.”

Caramia

We got it by subtraction.
A kind of return to the origin, a journey through time in search of a flavour that has long been taken for granted, yet is anything but ordinary.

We are settled in the most suitable area in the world for the production of this type of wine, right in the very centre of the swine Valley, that is known by the name of Po Valley.
Our Croatina, always generous and abundant in tannic, in this wine finds the perfect environment to accompany the main food of the territory (pork-based dishes).
This wine is refermented with its must 7 months after vinification and remains on its lees for further 18 months after the second fermentation below 2-3 atmospheres.
This process makes it extremely flexible and suitable for several food pairings.
To be tasted fresh from the refrigerator with the traditional “Schita” – which is a local tasty flatbread – and cold cuts, as well as at cellar temperature as an ideal companion for traditional “sausage and bonarda wine” risotto, cheese, without disdaining mixed grills and game too.
We truly care about sharing this detail: this wine is dedicated to Ernestina, the beloved wife of uncle Nildo. The two kinds of bottles are two halves of the same apple. So many differences, so many similarities and yet both arise from the same deep feeling.
